John Arokium holds a masters degree in education and is a teacher by profession. John was awarded his Shodan by Vesovic Sensei (6th Dan). John has been training at the Durban Aikido Club since 2005.

 John has significant experience in other martial arts such as Judo and ranks a 3rd Dan in Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate.
